You could argue that some months are more important than others. When it comes to June, did you know it’s National Safety Month? It may not be something we mark with greeting cards and gifts, but the significance of safety is more than noteworthy. In fact, according to the Department of Labor, workplace injuries and illnesses not only disrupt personal lives, but U.S. employers pay almost $1 billion per week for direct workers’ compensation costs alone. Add in the indirect costs associated with employee safety issues and you can see why it’s worthy of ongoing focus.
